Teaching principles

ADG promotes active teaching principles. Programs and contents are adapted to participants’ reality, skills and needs. We precede our training with an exchange/diagnosis phase to grasp the teaching objectives with precision and then to present content in perfect harmony with those objectives.

Our trainings consist of theory and practice.

The theory sections are based on gradual, illustrated and iterative processes:

  • The addressed topics are illustrated with case studies and examples, and in possible related to participants’ professional realities;
  • Many debates based on work tools and their adaptation to real conditions are organised. They enhance the participants’ knowledge and experience;
  • Fact sheets facilitate knowledge transposition to participants’ professional sphere;
  • Each thematic is collectively built and summarised.

The practical sections reinforce and contextualise the theory:

  • Practical work tools exercises and applications based on real situations experienced by participants and presented in real conditions, when possible;
  • Visits and debates offering the opportunity to exchange with professionals: farmers, agricultural downstream stakeholders, private and collective stakeholders (cooperatives) involved in agricultural products transformation and marketing, management stakeholders, representative structures of the peasant world…Visits are systematically supervised and debriefed (Potential stakeholders and collaborations in the context of visits and debates, Belgium) (Download - in french) ;
  • Panel discussions gathering many experts on one theme and founded on questions related to addressed theme.

ADG attaches importance to written informative and teaching material to complete the training (specific course material and other sources of information).

Participants are knowledge and expertise carriers. Trainings aim for the acquisition of knowledge, tools and sufficient practice so they can contribute to professionalise their structure
